What better way to welcome the fall season than with a great Oktoberfest celebration right here in Plymouth, WI! While you could certainly spend a fortune and book a plane ticket to Germany for this incredible holiday, the authenticity that can be found right here can save you all that hassle, while still making you feel like you’re right there in Munich!
The 10th Annual Plymouth Oktoberfest will be taking place from Friday, September 20 to Saturday, September 21, 2013 at the Plymouth Arts Center and is expected to see more than 3,000 guests this year! Presented by the Plymouth Arts Center, the event will be held from 3p.m. to 10p.m. on Friday and from 11a.m. to 7:30p.m. On Saturday and thanks to local business and community sponsors, admission is free.
So what sort of fun events can you expect this year? Well be sure to bring your dancing shoes and head out onto the dance floor on Friday for a bit of polka and waltz music from 3-6p.m., and then stick around because fan favorites, Copper Box Band are up immediately after from 6-9p.m. Food will begin to be served at 3p.m. on Friday, with the festival menu including Spanferkel, famous Johnsonville brats, hamburgers, German potato salad, sauerkraut and a selection of delicious desserts like German chocolate cake, apple strudel, kettle corn and much more. Most of the same foods can be found on Saturday afternoon as well, in addition to a grilled chicken dinner prepared by Three Guys and a Grill. All food items are available for takeout, so bring your appetite and save a little room for later!
Goodtime Dutchmen, and Brian and the Mississippi Valley Dutchmen will both be hitting the stage on Saturday, but if that’s not enough, there’s also something entirely new to the festival this year that you’re not going to want to miss. A special chainsaw woodcarving event will also be held on the second day of Plymouth Oktoberfest, so stop out and see these chainsaw artists transform old logs into incredible works of art!
All proceeds for this fun-filled event will benefit the Plymouth Arts Center, which is a non-profit dedicated to enlivening the spirit of the community and enriching the lives of all through art. If there were ever a weekend to plan a trip up to the Plymouth/Sheboygan area, it’s this one! Book a reservation at the Inn on Hillwind today and reserve your room before it’s too late!
