The 11th Annual Plymouth Oktoberfest is Right Around the Corner!

Now that Labor Day has officially come and gone, it’s almost time to say goodbye to summer and greet the falls season with open arms. Although most of us are sad to see the sunshine and warmth of the summer season go, keep in mind that there are plenty of wonderful things about this cooler season to look forward to. One thing in particular happens to be an event that people all over the world wait all year for. That’s right – we’re talking about Oktoberfest!

This particular German festival is a favorite amongst many and will be taking its 11th annual return to Plymouth in just a couple of weeks. If you plan to be in town on the weekend of Friday, September 19th to Saturday, September 20th, make sure that this is one event that you do not miss! The fun takes place from 2:30pm until 9:30pm on Friday and from 10am until 4:30pm on Saturday, which means you will have plenty of time to celebrate.

The festival is sponsored by Masters Gallery, the Plymouth Arts Center and Sargento, and will feature musical stylings from bands like Polka Potion, Copper Box, and the only High School German Band in the U.S.: Plymouth High School’s Junge Kameraden. When you’re not busy tearing up the dance floor to their songs, don’t shy away from sampling all of the tasty foods and homemade desserts! Then once your thirst gets the better of you, be sure to check out the beer garden – or “biergarten” – and sip on a bit of German and domestic beer!

Admission to this year’s Oktoberfest is free and will take place rain or shine. Plus with the drive to the Plymouth Arts Center being a mere five minutes from our bed and breakfast hotel at N4922 Hillwind Road in Plymouth, WI, there’s really no reason why you shouldn’t choose to stay at the Inn on Hillwind!

Experience For Yourself What It’s Like to Ride on Road America!

There’s always something fun and exciting going on at Road America and this August is no exception! Every year, people from all over the world make their way out to the raceways to watch others go head to head on the track and fantasize about what it would be like to be down there with them. Well thanks to one incredible upcoming event, you don’t have to dream about it anymore – you can be right down there in the action.

The Sunset Cruise will take place on Saturday, August 23, 2014 and is a great opportunity for people to experience first-hand what it’s like to ride on one of the greatest racing circuits in the United States. However, this activity is not for those who are seeking a high-speed thrill. All participants in the Sunset Cruise are limited to three guided laps on the 4-mile racecourse at low speeds to make sure everyone has a safe, fun time.

Sound like something you may be interested in? Well space is limited so make sure that you register soon! The opportunity is open to people of all ages who possess a valid driver’s license. Since you will be required to drive your own vehicle in this event, all you need to ensure is that your car is no taller than 8 ½ feet and has a at least a half a tank of gas when you pull onto the track.

The event will begin at 6pm but participants are asked to arrive at Road America no earlier than 5pm and no later than 5:40pm. The cost is set at $20 per car but in our opinion, the experience itself is priceless!

Luckily for you, Road America is only about a 10 minute ride from our bed and breakfast hotel located at N4922 Hillwind Road in Plymouth, WI. With a commute that quick, why would you ever think about staying anywhere else?
